We need YOUR help!
It’s been about a week and a half since the Great Newtown Reunion. We had a wonderful time bringing everyone together to support our home town, to embrace, laugh, and to reminisce. Now the tent has been struck, the bandstand is silent and we have returned to our regular, everyday lives.
Many of you have expressed how much you enjoyed yourselves and have inquired about what remains to be done. There was a great deal of effort to price this event as low as possible to keep it affordable for as many people as possible. You may be aware, as often happens with first time events, there were some unanticipated costs, some pledges and promises unable to be kept and a resulting financial gap which is now the focus of effort for the Committee.
We would like to acknowledge and thank you all for the donations received so far through EventBrite and through the mail. Money continues to arrive. Tremendous progress has been made toward paying the vendors and closing the books.
Here’s where we are right now. As of today we are well more than half way home. Cash collected on the day of the event, Eventbrite donations and the earliest snail mail check arrivals have already been applied to what initially was looking like an insurmountable challenge. Through the donations collected so far, including a very generous anonymous contribution, we stand at $5000 still due.
To those of you who have been waiting to contribute, first wanting to know exactly how much is due and when, it is due now and we are still looking for help to close in on the last $5000. Your incredible response of support and generosity is very much appreciated.
The most instant way for you to donate would be through Eventbrite (link below) although they do take a percentage. If you would like to send a check directly to The Reunion, please make checks payable to The Great Newtown Reunion and send them to:

Sarah Farrel and Tad Wheeler have created a fun website with all of the beautiful pictures they took at the Reunion. Click here to go to http://reunionphotos.zenfolio.com/ to peruse, tag, share, and purchase your favorite photos from the reunion! All proceeds go to Newtown Charities.
The Great Newtown Reunion Committee wishes to extend its sincere thanks to our gracious First Selectwoman, Ms. Pat Llodra and to Newtown’s Land Use Director, Mr. George Benson for their very hard work and for their belief in our vision of this event. Our ‘All-Classes-Invited’ Reunion would NOT have taken place had they not gone out of their way to make it happen. We have assured Town Authorities and local Law Enforcement that this event will bring ‘Newtown’s Own’, back home for a dignified and heartfelt cause. Through this incredible reunion and our presence in town, the residents we encounter will sense our compassion and will know that we support them with our loyalty and our hearts.
